Our Police Visit

This morning we went to the Whare to learn what the Police do in our community from Constable Glenys.
First she showed us her uniform and tools and what they are used for. Our favourite tools were the baton and handcuffs! Next we watched a DVD called "Bryan and Bobby" which showed us what the Police do for us. We learned that the Police help people by teaching them how to be safe, how to do the right thing, by rescuing them, finding lost things or arresting people who break the law/rules.
Then when we had finished watching the DVD we discussed all the things that Police do to help us. After that Constable Glenys took us outside to see her Patrol Car. She turned on the lights to show us how they flash when the Police are going to an emergency and then we heard the siren, it was loud!
Finally Mya was lucky enough to get a chance to sit in the patrol car and use the loud speaker on the radio to call out instructions to the rest of the class, Miss Breen even got a "Hi". After the visit, most of our class want to be Police officers when we grow up.

The holidays are great, I am able to sit down and have a good look at all the great work that has been happening at Clendon Park School.

It was very exciting for me when I came to your 'bLOG' page. What a lot of work your class has completed and the police visit was a interesting way to end the Term.

I look forward to see the all the posts from everyone on a regular basis.

    Thanks for sharing your work
