Today we joined forces with Room 11 to share some of our Maths learning and celebrate the last day of Maths Week.
First we went to Room 11 to show their students how to play the strategy game '21', they really enjoyed it! Room 11 also showed us how to play some Place Value games.
After we finished playing our games, we all went out to the courts and were split in to teams to create (with chalk) and navigate a basic maze, as we are looking at Position and Orientation this term. We were only allowed to use directions such as 'step forward/backwards, turn left/right' etc to move a person in our team successfully through the maze. We even tried it with our eyes closed. This was a real challenge for our students but we had a lot of fun trying!
We may need some practice on our directions for left and right : )

Wow, those mazes looked really hard! Well done Room 11 and 13
ReplyDeleteThis looks like so much fun. I wonder if Room 13 could come and do a similar activity with Room 8 as we are not so good at this yet! Keep up the great work. xx Ms Tataurangi xx
